He tends to make even the most casual settings beyond awkward and while it embarrasses him, he has no idea how to change this, though, if given the chance, he doubts he actually would. Back home in Seattle, his family constantly teased him about his clumsy ways and his ridiculous jokes. Perhaps this led to his slight insecurity issue, but he loves his family regardless, every single one of them. One of his older sisters thinks that due to their large family, Toby started acting strange just to get attention, but Toby himself doesn’t believe this. He’s just a bit different, a bit of an oddball, and he’s accepted that.</p> <p>Throughout high school, Toby had a crush on the same girl from freshman year on. As hard as he tried to get her to notice him, she never spared him a second glance, though he didn’t let this dampen his spirits. He remained awkwardly cheerful about the whole thing. He didn’t have many friends, but the few other ‘oddballs’ that he hung out with were all computer nerds, and slowly introduced Toby into the world of Computer Animation, something he found fascinating. He liked how he could express himself through this art, and slowly began to forget about the bitchy girl that ignored him while he spent most of his time learning the ins and outs of animation.</p> <p>When applying for schools, Toby had wanted to get as far away from Seattle and his family as possible. It’s not that he didn’t love them, because, he most certainly did, he just needed to get out and maybe find himself, as he liked to say. When he heard about the Art Institute in Miami, he booked a flight almost immediately to check out the campus, which he instantly fell in love with. Toby knew that this Art Institute was the one he wanted to attend – and the fact that it was on the complete opposite side of the country was just a bonus. After getting his acceptance letter, he bragged about it to his family for days, even though his parents wished he’d stay closer to home and the rest of his large family.</p> <p>After moving to Florida, Toby’s luck with girls definitely changed. Most found his goofy humor and awkward persona to be endearing, and while he constantly found himself friend zoned, he was pleased to at least be able to call some girls his friends. He dated a girl his freshman year, but the pair soon found out that they were better off as friends than lovers. He’s still looking for a special girl, one who will make his heart race and love him for every ounce of awkward he has. He spends a lot of time either at his dorm or the local Starbucks, a place he likes to go to get away despite his distaste for coffee. He’s recently begun befriending one of the baristas there, a girl by the name of Minnie Rousseau.</p> </blockquote>
